The Process of Therapy
Dried paint, pencil and tracing paper.
This work is inspired by the individual art therapy work with an anorexic patient in my final year placement. The process of making this work was parallel to the process of therapy. From collecting the barely touched paint left by her (which represents her raw emotions, projections, transference, just like her food), drying it (processing it), naming it (literally),to putting it together (allowing her to receive the palatable materials and re-own them).
