Scratching the Surface

Acrylic and ink on plywood

This piece exposes the challenges of clinical work, my own journey in personal therapy and my current feelings as I come to the end of the MA Art Psychotherapy programme. This piece developed accidentally and allowed me to consider conflicting aspects of my experience on the course. It has been chaotic yet rewarding, reinforcing the idea that making art provides a holding space for my anxieties and feelings. This process has become a valuable aspect of my time on the course that I will continue to cherish.
