The art work is a collection of ink drawings made over the last ten months. The drawings relate to my experience of working with patients with severe mental health illness in a rehabilitation service.
Through that period I used art to understand my relationship with my patients and to contain the feelings stirred within myself. Art became a way of communicating difficult and overwhelming experiences which could not be put into words.
The art works represent a transition between the outside and inside, how I moved from working with architectural structures and started looking at the body/my body and how my art making became concerned with the processes inside of myself rather than the environment about me. But yet the art works touch upon universal human emotions.
